Meet your Legislator!

Our Meet Your Legislator session was filled with positive and practical advice on engaging your village’s elected officials. Having our village voices heard is crucial and VMC has some information and tools to help make that happen!

Thank you Leza Coleman, Legislative Director for the California Commission on Aging and VMC board member, Erick Larson, Executive Director of Village of Sonoma Valley and VMC board member, and Carolyn Ross, Interim Executive Director at VMC for holding this workshop.

You can watch the webinar here & see the slides here to prepare to meet with our state legislators during the fall/winter recess when they will be back in their home offices from Sacramento.

Below are materials shared to help you get connected with your elected officials.

The Village Impact Report is also a great engagement tool that details how Villages support the state’s Master Plan for Aging.

ChaiVillageLA

ChaiVillageLA is the first synagogue-based village in the country, a bold partnership of two cutting-edge Los Angeles-area synagogues—Temple Emanuel and Temple Isaiah—to challenge their congregants to rethink their paradigms of aging and use their accumulated experience, talents, wisdom and creativity to build a community of support, caring and enrichment. Being a faith-based village, ChaiVillageLA aligns itself with the values of its synagogues and the wider Jewish community.
