6th Annual Statewide Conference:
Expanding the Possibilities

Over 100 attendees from across California, as well as representatives from two Washington DC area villages, joined our 6th Annual Statewide Conference held at the West Health Institute in La Jolla, CA.

5th Annual Statewide Conference:
Fulfilling Our Potential

In June 2023, over 100 village leaders, stakeholders, and sponsors joined the Village Movement California staff and board in Oakland at our annual conference, Fulfilling Our Potential.

The presentations and conversations about the needs of middle-income Californianscare and caregiving, and the importance of advocacy were intended to equip us to better understand, and articulate, how villages support and change lives. It is time for us to stake a claim within the larger aging services continuum so that our movement is valued as a solution to the challenges facing California and its older people.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) Workshop Series

We’ve been talking about this truth for several years, searching for steps we can take. This series will highlight the work three villages – Pasadena, Ashby, and San Francisco – are taking on to engage new audiences of potential village members and volunteers.

Member Spotlight

ChaiVillageLA

ChaiVillageLA is the first synagogue-based village in the country, a bold partnership of two cutting-edge Los Angeles-area synagogues—Temple Emanuel and Temple Isaiah—to challenge their congregants to rethink their paradigms of aging and use their accumulated experience, talents, wisdom and creativity to build a community of support, caring and enrichment. Being a faith-based village, ChaiVillageLA aligns itself with the values of its synagogues and the wider Jewish community.
