What’s New in CA Villages for February 2026

2026 marks a pivotal moment for our movement. As California’s older adult population continues to grow, the urgency of our work has never been clearer: every community deserves a village, and every village deserves the support to thrive.

Growing the Movement
Our first Village Incubator workshop of 2026 launches this week with our largest and most geographically diverse cohort yet spanning from rural towns to urban cities to coastal communities across the Golden State––including groups from San Diego, Sacramento, and the rural community of Elk in Mendocino County. These emerging village leaders are already identifying and leveraging community assets that will transform how their neighbors age. We are energized by their commitment and eager to share their progress throughout the year.

Strengthening Our Foundation
We are also doubling down on making our existing 50 villages stronger, more sustainable, and better equipped to meet the growing needs of older Californians. Our 2026 Village Accelerator series will tackle the challenges village leaders face most. Sign up and details to follow.

  • Elder Fraud & Local Village Advocacy – February
  • Conflict Resolution – March
  • The Dementia-Friendly Village – April
  • Social Care Navigation – May
  • Supporting Higher-Need Members – June
  • Strategic Planning 101 – October

Thank You to Our 2025 Partners
None of this work would be possible without the generous support of our 2025 donors and sponsors, listed below. Your investment in the village movement is transforming lives across California, and we are deeply grateful.

Member Spotlight

Palos Verdes Peninsula Village

Palos Verdes Peninsula Village provides a community where members continue to grow, engage with one another, and age with independence, dignity and purpose.  Through volunteers and referrals, we provide support and services for members who have chosen to live in the communities and homes they love as they get older. Our mission is to preserve and enhance the comfort, security, dignity and sense of belonging for older residents who wish to continue to live on the Peninsula.
