Deepening My Commitment to CA’s Village Movement

Dear Village Leaders and Supporters,

I’m writing to share that after 13 years, I have stepped down as Executive Director of San Francisco Village (SFV). Building this extraordinary community with our members and supporters has been the privilege of my lifetime. Today, SFV is a community of well over 1000 people: 700 members, 250 multi-generational volunteers, dozens of donors, partners and supporters, all of whom come together to optimize health and well-being for everyone involved.

My commitment to the Village Movement remains steadfast. I will continue as Board Chair of Village Movement California (VMC), an organization I co-founded over 9 years ago that now supports 50+ villages across California and several nationwide. I’m thrilled to work alongside VMC board and staff to launch new villages through the Village Incubator and strengthen and sustain existing villages with the new Village Accelerator program. My vision for scaling love and human connection hasn’t changed, just my address.

I look forward to continuing our work together to advance this network of intentional, caring communities built on prosocial values like reciprocity, volunteerism, empathy and shared interests. In the current political climate, villages are a beacon for what’s possible when people act on their values and bring a shared vision to life.

Grateful to be in community with you!
