Aging independently, by design

The Harvard University Gazette is talking about the Village model! 🎓

Most older adults say they want to spend their golden years in their own homes. The reality is more complicated, says urban planning expert.

In a new interview on aging in place, Harvard urban planning professor Ann Forsyth called villages “a successful example” of how older adults scattered throughout a city can “find each other through this villages group that provides services, social connection, and a sense of community.”

That’s exactly what our 50 (and growing) villages across California do every day — and why we work to help more communities launch and thrive.
