5th Annual Conference

CONFERENCE RECAP:

In June 2023, over 100 village leaders, stakeholders, and sponsors joined the Village Movement California staff and board in Oakland at our annual conference, Fulfilling Our Potential.

The presentations and conversations about the needs of middle-income Californians, care and caregiving, and the importance of advocacy were intended to equip us to better understand, and articulate, how villages support and change lives. It is time for us to stake a claim within the larger aging services continuum so that our movement is valued as a solution to the challenges facing California and its older people.

Join us on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 8:30am – 5:00pm at Preservation Park, Oakland, CA 94612

The time is right for villages to step into their crucial role within California’s aging services continuum. Each day, the village movement fulfills the CA Master Plan for Aging’s five bold goals and offers older adults, their families and communities, and the State a path towards sustainable aging.

The conference will focus on the exciting local and statewide opportunities at hand and equip you to seize them. You will gain knowledge, skills, and resources to advance your village’s mission and vision. You will expand your network and have a great time in beautiful Old Oakland. Bring a team!

Member Spotlight

Palos Verdes Peninsula Village

Palos Verdes Peninsula Village provides a community where members continue to grow, engage with one another, and age with independence, dignity and purpose.  Through volunteers and referrals, we provide support and services for members who have chosen to live in the communities and homes they love as they get older. Our mission is to preserve and enhance the comfort, security, dignity and sense of belonging for older residents who wish to continue to live on the Peninsula.
